Dreamwoods

I have been in woodworking for about 4 years now.   It started with watching the "New Yankee Workshop" on Public TV.   His creations sparked my interest.

Cindy Conover writes:
"With the design of the entertainment center I find that no matter how things change and the more DVD’s and CD’s and stuff that I obtain, I still have a lot of flexibility for storage. It’s totally functional with the stationary side and bottom for storing and adding strength to the unit. One side has adjustable shelving, it works well for me as I have already changed the shelving several times to fit my changing needs.  And the center section for the TV provides enough depth that the TV doesn’t protrude and still has enough room for a larger size TV. And being made of solid wood it’s perfect ! My grandson hasn’t even dented it yet.

As for the shelving and book case cabinet. It is a much smaller piece than the entertainment center and it seems to fit no matter where I move it to. It has the solid boxes of shelving down the right side and the rest has the adjustable shelving, over the base with two doors that open for closed storage. I love it and everyone that comes over asks me to give it to them.  Again, It being made of solid wood construction, my grandson hasn’t dented it either.

As for cost. I found that the cost of the pieces that you have made for me to be quite reasonable. Especially for solid wood construction."

"Dennis recently made a sofa table for me and his motto of “you draw it and I’ll build it” was put to the test. I found a picture of a coffee table that I really liked but I wanted the top a little different and I wanted it 30” high, plus I wanted it made out of three different woods. Converting from coffee table height to 30” had to be a challenge since the legs were curved yet the legs he built were perfectly proportioned and exactly what I wanted. He spent plenty of time with me helping me pick out the woods to achieve the look I wanted. When he worked up a price for me it turned out that the wood I had chosen for the legs was an expensive wood (true to my taste) but put it out of my price range. He easily suggested another wood that would give me the same look but was much less expensive. I knew that Dennis does excellent work and pays a lot of attention to detail but my table turned out even nicer than I expected. The joinery was fantastic and the only screws or nails used in the table were for securing the top to the apron. The finish on the table is beautiful and smooth as silk. Since I’ve refinished lots of furniture myself I know well how much time he had to put in to the finish to get it that perfect. He had never made anything like this before but true to his word he built it and built it beautifully. The “curvy leg table” is truly a piece of art work that I enjoy having in my living room.

When I wanted one of Dennis’ hand made wooden pens he had a lot of beautiful woods for me to choose from. I chose a slim line style made out of Lacewood because I liked the grain. What surprised me was how good it feels in my hand when I’m writing with it. The size is perfect for me, the wood has a wonderful smooth finish, and it writes beautifully.

I liked Dennis’ wooden pens so much I asked him if he could also make bottle stoppers. I have had some nice bottle stoppers but the cork was always breaking off of them after a little use leaving me with a useless decorative top. Dennis makes his stoppers with a chrome base which is very durable and fits different size bottle openings. I use mine not only for wine but also for some of the good olive oils I buy. I like them so much I have my order in for another one this time made out of Marblewood from South America. I’ve given them for gifts and the recipients love them.

"I still love my entertainment center; it’s really working great for me,
I can’t believe the price; you had saved me some money."

Stephanie Mann says:
"My daughter and I love our Ocondo. It’s the perfect size for her library from the large picture books to the small and chunky board books. She loves making her nighttime selection now as she no longer has to dig through a toy box for her stories. It won’t be long, however, before she’ll be moving them around to accommodate her dolls – she’s already starting to talk to them through the windows. The Ocondo puts the “fun” in function!

The design fits in PERFECTLY with her décor. It was so exciting to watch an idea come to fruition. It was all I had envisioned and more - you do a fabulous job not only at constructing high-quality furniture but in the design phase as well."

I am looking forward to working with you our next project!
